| Our company keeps hitting us with more and more "inventory reduction" days. Apparently, tires are not selling like they used to. Things have gotten so bad that they sent us home at noon today, and have shut down our plant until Thursday morning. We've got more scheduled work stoppages later this month and several next month as well. There are even rumors of a massive layoff, but that remains to be seen.
Please pray for my work situation. | Maybe yall should dump the union, work for REASONABLE wages/benefits and actaully WORK while you're there. Then the company could sell the tires for MUCH less and people like me (who buy those tires) can afford them. Just a thought AND my humble opinion.....  |

| I doubt if the union left and they cut our pay by half that the tire prices would drop at all. Agreed.
Praying that your work situation will improved, forced time off is no good.
We see this all the time with one of our major industries "Boeing" the commercial airplane manufacturer has several plants here in Western WA.
About once every 2 to 5 years they lay off between 6 to 30 thousand employees.

I pray your plant will get big orders so the inventory days are over.
Hope what they tell about the layoff are rumors and never will be reality. |

| I just wonder what is going to happen. BSFS is known for repeating patterns in their business--whether good or bad. We've had two plants close in the past 5 or 6 years: one in Oklahoma City and one in Decatur. In both plants, the company began buying/installing new machinery to help the factory "be more competitive". Then, they started messing with the people's work schedule. Finally, they shut the doors, and moved that machinery to other plants.
Well, guess what our factory is now doing? Seeing that we are now the oldest plant in the BSFS North American operations, I just wonder if our neck isn't on the chopping block.
I can't say that I am really scared of losing my job. I love the money and benefits, but I've wanted to leave for a long time.
