| No, this isn't a biblical look at the classic Disciple CD!
I had to go to work yesterday for a couple of hours with a committee I am on. We met with a similar committee from a nearby plant of ours, did lunch, and adjurned. It was easy money, to say the least.
Anyway, as I come back into Watertown, I turn off of Main Street onto another street. There is a small Presbyterian church there, and there are usually a couple of cars in the parking lot. Sometimes, it's school kids hangin' out, or people who are car pooling just leaving their vehicle there.
Not so, yesterday. OK, there were about 8 teenage boys there--note that school was not yet out! Two of the boys were beating each other to a pulp. One boy was bleeding badly from his nose, and his face was purple and swollen. The rest of the boys were in two groups who looked like they could go at it at any moment.
Rather than just drive on by, I felt God tell me that I had to do something. I had no time to think or to make a plan. I just quickly parked the truck, jumped out, grabbed my cell phone, dialed 9-1-1 without hitting the Send button, and walked into the middle of the situation. I told the boys that this was God's property and God's house, and this kind of thing was NOT going to happen here. They needed to get in the cars and just go home. I held the phone to my ear and was about to hit the Send button. One of the boys said, "Don't call no cops, man." They also said a few words I won't repeat, but they were at each other, not myself. They moved towards the cars, and a couple of them had small aluminum bats and were threatening each other with them. I told them again to get in the car because I was calling the police. So, they did! I never even had to make a call!
What was I thinking???
I just kinda feel like one or more of those boys would have been killed. God wanted to make an intervention, and I just was there at the right time. I am thankful for His protection and for him splitting this fight up. _________________ I might have decided, or maybe not, that I should or shouldn't, depending on the issue or non-issue, to possibly share or not share, any thoughts, opinions, or facts (that might not be deemed factual by some), due to possible fear of any misinterpretation or retribution.

| The kind of bravery that only the Holy Spirit can give... I applaud you for your obedience What you said was awesome too ! That's a seed that I guarantee will sit in the minds of some of those kids... and one day they'll be on a thread like this sharing a testimony to the dude who said that during the fight. God's ways are so cool ! |

That is pretty much exactly what I was thinking. I am very glad that God kept you safe, I pray that your act might be something to start those boys down the right path. I bet your adrenaline was really up, when you got back in your car huh? _________________ "I used to be indecisive.......... Now I'm not sure."

| Wow, I'm pretty sure I could never have done anything like that, so I too applaud you for your actions. It could be true that God sent you there to stop one of the kids getting killed. Fundy _________________ My Christian Metal Website......... www.bbillett.freeserve.co.uk

| I guess I'll never know for sure why God had me do what I did. I'm glad I happened along and listened to His voice. What makes me mad at myself is that I listen when it is something big and urgent like this, but then want to argue and "negotiate" with God with the small stuff. _________________ I might have decided, or maybe not, that I should or shouldn't, depending on the issue or non-issue, to possibly share or not share, any thoughts, opinions, or facts (that might not be deemed factual by some), due to possible fear of any misinterpretation or retribution. |

It takes time and things like this has to grow. Know God will help you with these things too. God is perfect in the small things. God is often using small things to show things to us.
I am sure I ever have told here what God showed me when I wished to be a big impressive eagle. |
