| Hey all
As most of you probably know, I'm in my first semester of college and living away from home. I love school, I'm in a music program that is fantastic and also really challenges me and I've made some great friends, some Christian and some not.
This being said I've found especially lately that I've been really homesick, I'm having a bit of a tough time with my relationship with God and trying to work out what to do for school next year (my program is only 2 semesters long) and to top it all off my roommate has been creating some issues for me in our residence so I'm trying to work that out as well.
At any rate I go home for Christmas in 2 weeks which is very exciting, and I'm pretty stoked to be heading into finals for the semester but prayers that I can get through it in one piece and calm down a little would be awesome
Thank-you! |

| One thing you are going to have to do is find a Bible study or church that you can be a part of regularly. Your folks don't have the control over that while you are away at school.
During the extra free time next semester, you could do some volunteer work through a local Christian charity or rescue mission. It would help eat up some of your free time, and it would help you in your walk with Christ. _________________ |

| I agree with what Chris told you.
I hope you will find a cool church with a youth group. |

| Some fantastic advise from alldat. Also do not forsake prayer and regularly reading your bible while at shcool. Both of those will help keep you closer to God. Praying for you sister. _________________ -- "One day you'll stand before God and realize it wasn't about you"

| Thanks guys! The advice is appreciated. I actually just spent a whole weekend doing multiple sets for a Christmas gig at a Church near the campus. It was HUGE, but it was really nice to meet some new people who are Christians etc. I have been checking out a few Churches with some friends. Oddly, we've found that the Churches closest to us seem really unsincere about what they're preaching, like I hate saying this about any Church but the vibe is pretty phoney... but I've been praying on it and I have been to a great Church here a few times - only big downside is that it's an hour away by transit but im hoping to go a lot more when my schedule clears in the new year. Anyways thanks again, keep praying and I will too and will look to get some bible studies/prayer sessions going |

| Sadly there do seem to be a lot of liberal or watered-down churches these days.... Hope you can manage to find one more convenient, but that one may be where God wants you. Listen to Him. _________________ "If you are not concerned about your neighbor's salvation, you should be concerned about your own."

| I've got a really solid couple of Christian friends that I'm spending a lot of time with and am really thankful for right now. We hold eachother accountable and have also been talking about our where we are in our walks with God a lot which is awesome.
I'm also SUPER busy these days but unlike before I'm finding it way more powerful and worthwhile to just forget about the business for awhile each day and spend some quiet time with God. I reallly really should have been doing that more before. God is so good.
Right now I'm in my second and final semester of my 1 year certificate program in music. The workload is reallly heavy and I'm also dealing with job interviews for a couple of positions at the college next year as well as program interviews so that I can continue studying either in music or something else next year. I would really appreciate prayers that my relationship with Christ remains #1 and through all this and that will also help me overcome all of the stress and scariness of all the big stuff that's coming up.
Thanks so much! Beth |
