| It's good you have spend time with your daddy when he was in the hospital, you have spoken about things that needed to be talked about. What has to come tonight or tomorrow is very tough and heavy. Yep, I know how it is to lose one of your parents. I know that God is very close to you in that moments
Know you, your brother and seester are in my prayers. Be strong for what is coming. |

| We got all of the arrangements made yesterday. Daddy has just enough in his checking to cover his final expenses. My sister and I went and retrieved all the family photos. My wife and I are going to undergo the massive project of scanning them all so that all three of us kids can have copies. We will return the originals with my brother and sister in them to them. We will all still have copies, so this will be a good thing because no one will have to wish and trade for what they wanted. At times like this, technology is great.
The visitation will be today at Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria, TN from 10 AM to 9 PM. Tomorrow visitation will be from 10 AM to 1 PM with the funeral beginning at 1 PM. _________________ |

| God is with you today with the visitation and tomorrow with the funeral. You and your family are in my prayers today and tomorrow. For me the funeral of my daddy was terrible.
That's long the visitation from 10 AM till 9 PM. People can come and give the familt, friends and other people their sympathy?
I hope it's a wonderful service, a service where God shows His comfort to you all. |

| Ok, I'll probably start crying again, but I am ready to share some of the things that God blessed us with during our stay at the hospital--and even after.
Blessing 1:
When my dad died, I was very concerned because I did not know where he stood for Christ. The preacher that did the funeral tried to reassure us, but he did not know my dad very well.
A called a local pastor on Saturday (after the funeral) to see if I could borrow some costumes for my youth Christmas program. This pastor had met my dad, and had visited with him about 7-8 times in his home between May and August. (My dad had his first stroke in Aug.) Anyway, one of the conversations turned towards the spiritual things.
The pastor first told me how proud daddy was of all of us: me, my sister and her children, and my brother. I had never told this pastor that I had a brother and sister. There was more info provided that no one would know without talking to my dad. So, I know it was real.
Then, this pastor asked my dad about getting things right with the Lord. My dad told him that he had done that many years ago, but stopped going to church due to something that had happened in the church. He also said that my grandfather had always taught him to not discuss your feelings, politics, or religion. So, he kept all of that to himself. It's just who he was.
So, the biggest blessing of all is knowing that my dad was very proud of me, and that he has made his home with Jesus.
I will share more later, but I cannot right now. _________________ |

| For me, there were few tears today. On the way to visit with Alldat and Seester, a song came on that brought sweet memories to the front of my mind. A few silent tears, of joy, not sorrow.
Once we got to TN, it was all fun and laughs. I will always miss daddy and Christmas will never be the same, but in my own way, I am fully at peace with daddy 'going home'..... _________________ I refuse to have a signature line. |
