PostSubject: Thank you.   Tue Apr 14, 2009 11:21 pm

What do those two words really mean to you?

I think alot of us take those two words way to lightly when we say them.

You know we say "thank you" and move on, but thats it, thats all the further it ever goes, we really fail to go further and really SHOW how thankful we are.

Im about to go a little further with this. When we say "Thank you God for this and thank you God for that" thats all the further we really go, (most of us) but there is so much more than that to showing how thankful you are to God. We have to show it to Him, in every word we say, everything we do through out our daily lives we have to live Thankfull life for everthing God does for us.

Most of us would say, well I am thankful for everything God does for me, or has done for me.

If thats so, then why are you so scared to go out and tell what God has done for you, is it because you might get made fun of? Well guess what, God was beat for your sin's and spit on, and mocked, and even worse He died for you and me, such wretched sinners.

If we can't appretiate that then we are living a worthless life, we no have use to God, all we are doing is hindering other believers that are out there trying to be a witness and tell other people what God has done for them, we are just getting in there way.

All im trying to say is we need to be way more thankful for everything we have, you know we whine about not having this or that but nobody ever realizes all the things they do have, like Salvation, God's mercy, His love, there is so much more.

I want to challenge EVERYBODY here at CHM to live a more thankful life and really come to a realization of what God has done for us in every aspect of our lives.

Good post drumdude.

It's so easy to say "Thank you God" without thinking what we're actually meaning. God is with us always, and we need to remember He will never leave us nor forsake us.

I wish I could get my eldest to say those two words a little more often

I think... that I really really got a better understanding of those words tonight. About 5 years ago I "randomly" ended up with an acquintance of my brother's on msn, and he ended up ultimately helping to lead me to Christ. He's got 4 years on me, so with both of us busy with school we've rarely talked a lot over those 5 years but have made sure to keep in touch. Similarly to how I feel about you guys on this board, he's always been there through both the ups and downs in my walk with God

Well tonight we got together for the first time, probably since last fall and got to talking about where we're at spiritually... he essentially summarized his 4 years of university (now completed) and told me about allll the different ways he's influenced people in his program, at his school, in the community and even outside of the country....

This really made me reflect on a few things, one being that I am SO thankful that God gives me the opportunity every single day of my life to share with other people in various ways, I barely ever thank him for that opportunity and for all that I have. I have a lot that I know I take for granted (don't we all). I am also really thankful that God has provided me with somewhat of a mentor, so that even when I feel like im falling, and even my own family is spiritually against me I have other people that I can turn to, I rarely ever take the opportunity to thank those people and God for using them to help me get through some of the rough spots in life, whether they know they're helping or not lol

So long story short, maybe this sounds corny to you guys, i sure hope not but thank-you for helping me grow as a Christian, God is SO faithful, and I agree with you completely drumdude, it's something that should be recognized all the time Smile ...thanks for posting
