10. Jackie Chan. Kick, punch and run and laugh.
09. Jennifer Connelly. One of my old favourites.
08. Andie McDowell. Just for Groundhog Day. Loved her relaxed acting style.
07. Jonny Depp. Most of the stuff he's done (that I've seen) he's been great in.
06. Moore Marriott. Will Hays side kick. He wasn't that old, but he looked 130!
05. Ian McKellen. Completely nailed Gandalf in LOTR. Brilliant actor.
04. Will Smith. Even if the script is awful Will always turns in a star performance.
03. Will Hay. Bumbling comic who played his parts so well.
02. Groucho Marx. Great debonair styled actor. Hugely funny.
01. Harpo Marx. For a guy who said nothing he said alot!!!

10. Bill Crystal (never fails to be funny)
9. Sean Connery (and not just as James Bond)
8. Demi Moore (I have no idea why, she just seems believable in everything I’ve seen her do)
7. Johnny Depp (love his acting, but he is one weird dude)
6. Tom Hanks (it's my wife's fault, she made me watch all his films)
5. Daniel Day-Lewis (great dramatic actor)
4. Helena Bonham Carter (she’s funny, quirky, demure, mad, she can do it all)
3. Kenneth Branagh (favorite Shakespearean actor)
2. Harrison Ford (loved all of his 80’s work and most of the 90’s stuff as well)
1. Liam Neeson (fantastic dramatic actor)

Not in any particular order...

David Wenham.

Alan Rickman.

Karl Urban.

Sean Bean.

Jackie Chan.

Harrison Ford.

Sean Connery.

Andy Serkis.

Liam Neeson.

Gary Oldman.

These distinguished gents have either:

Made me laugh.

Made me cry.

Kept me on the edge of my seat in suspense.

Caused me to sit speechless at the depth of their acting.

Made me think about what my choices would be if faced with the same situation(s).

In short, I have yet to see a flick made by any of these fellers that I don't like. =)

To be honest I don't have favorite actors or actresses.

Quote:

Maybe it reminds you at the thread you started when we started to talk about Harold.
We named a lot of songs from Grease.
Can that be a reason.

I probably should have included both of those guys as well. I have never seen either one act in a movie I didn't enjoy.

I think some of his early films didn't seem to hold up well for me. But there are several (new and old) that I very much enjoyed.

- Big
- Joe Versus the Volcano (dumb but hilarious)
- Forrest Gump
- Apollo 13
- The Green Mile
- Castaway
- Catch Me if You Can (despite the fact that it had Leonardo Di Crappio in it)
- The Terminal

So what about you Saxgurl, what are your favorite Tom Hanks films?

Aww you dont like Leo?? Have you seen him in The Aviator? The Departed? - fantastic acting there!

As for Tom Hanks you covered the good ones pretty well there. I think my favourites are Castaway, The Road to Perdition, That Thing You Do and The Terminal.

In Peterborough, where I'm from, there was a little boy almost 10 years ago now that was very sick with a rare form of cancer and I really admire Tom Hanks also because of what he did for him.

Very cool story about Tom and that little boy. Great to see when celebrities remember their fan base (the reason they are famous).

Forgot about "Road to Perdition" another good film. I liked Jude Law in that film as well.

As for Leonardo I will say his acting has improved considerably (he was very convincing in "The Departed"). But the first three films I saw him in left me wishing I had never heard of him; "Romeo & Juliet" "Titanic" and "The Man in the Iron Mask".
