PostSubject: BLOODGOOD reviews at Angelic Warlord   Sun Dec 12, 2010 9:48 pm

Hello,

I just updated Angelic Warlord to include reviews of the Intense Millennium re-issues of the first two BLOODGOOD albums. Following are the links:

Self-titled: http://www.angelicwarlord.com/reviews/b/bloodgood86.html

"Detonation": http://www.angelicwarlord.com/reviews/b/bloodgood87.html

A review of the Sacred Warrior "Rebellion" re-issue should be done by next weekend.

Thanks,

Andy

Good reviews, Andy. I'm gonna give both of those albums a miss. They are pretty good but not worthy of buying a 2nd time. The only ones I can see myself buying again are the 3 new Bride albums (not including This Is It). But I'd have to absolutely LOVE the samples to warrant a purchase.

I'm definately gonna have to check out those reviews.
I would definately like to get these reissue as all I have is the KMG versions. But not sure if I can swing the funds right now.

I never got into Bloodgood back in the good ole days but with these re-releases I am seriously considering getting them.

I like the improved bass in the songs. But, to me, the originals had a wider stereo spread than the new issues. I guess you have to trade one for the other since you aren't remixing these as well.

Thanks everyone. Bloodgood has always been one of my favorite bands from the eighties because, as described in the reviews, they bring their own unique sound. In other words, you cannot really directly compare them to anyone else.

You hit the nail on the head with the improved bass sound, particularly "Detonation". I feel that the self-titled debut improved the most with the re-mastering- it sounds a bit heavier when compared to the original. Also, I do not know if a remix is necessary but I wish Bloodgood had followed the example of Crystavox and re-recorded certain guitar, bass and drum tracks. I think this is where you get the most optimal improvement- at least when comparing "The 20 Years Mix" to the original Crystavox material from back in the day.
