What did they sound like ?

I want to celebrate my new job with everyone by giving you a gift
- now, this is a unique gift idea and will take me a while, but I want to get your feedback on it here.

On occasion there are people posting that they've never heard certain old bands and I sometimes upload snippits of songs so they can hear them. (ie early Undercover, the Holidays, etc)

I'm going to make a list of Christian albums I have and post it. Then each person here can choose 15 bands off my list and I will create a compilation cd of 15 songs for you to sample.
This way, say you've always heard of "Rage of Angels" but never actually heard their stuff, you can pick them as one of the 15 and I'll put a song by them on the "What did they sound like ?" compilation.

You create your own mix to sample.... anyone like the idea ?

Well that's an awesome idea and very generous offer. Luckily there aren't many of us here or you could be very busy!

I may do the same thing though I don't have much time to spare so it could take a little while. So here is my list.

I love this idea. Sounds wonderful.

There are many bands that I read about in forums, and I search all over just looking for a soundbite. Sometimes, I am pleasantly rewarded, then, other times, I can't believe I spent so much time researching a band that I do not like at all.

Oh man this is a really cool idea!

Not to devalue your generous offer, butI wanna do it too! Although I am guessing you will have many more albums that others could pick from than I do.

At only 357 titles it is not nearly as massive as Topshots or Apologetixfreak, so if you can't find 15 artists you haven't heard, just send me 8, and I will give you two songs from each.

I'm still trying to figure out what I wanna hear from Topshot's and Apologetx's massive lists. I think I have been in record stores with less titles (wow).

I'm over 750 now.

Please PM me the 15 (or less) you chose. To save me time, I'm just going to rip mp3 files and send a zip of them all.

Sorry ya'all, my health has been trashed lately, so I'm behind on everything. But I'm working on 2 compilations as we speak, and looking over a couple of lists as well. Looking forward to a couple of cool compilations myself !

I've only had 2 people take me up on this and boy are they lucky.... the compilations I made them are awesome ! I made copies for myself and have been listening to them.

So, anyone else out there interested, e-mail me 15 choices of bands I own that you've never heard and I'll hook you up with what I'm calling "Taste Test" Cds. I've only had time to look over 1 list myself and come up with 15 from someone else, but those of you who are offering the same compilation, gimme time, I'm checking out your lists too !

I finished up the compilation discs for the 3 requests I had this weekend. I can't make it to the post office today, but I will make it tomorrow and will send them all.

I just got the compilation disc Apologetixfreak made for me.
But now I have a probelm. I have at least 13 more bands to add to my every growing list of "wants". Oh man there is just too much good music out there.
