Favorite song from Petra-Beyond Belief (1990)

Petra's most successful album, and the one that introduced me to the band in 1990 when I was in the 8th grade. Lot of good rockin tunes here, and a couple of ballads with Love and Prayer. My favorite vote is going to "I Am On the Rock"

Got to agree with you on this one.  Lots of great songs, but I Am On The Rock is a thumping solid tune from start to end

Tough to pick just one but went with Creed. Could be different if you asked me tomorrow.

I always like the title track though this is one of those albums chock full of rock! Definitely a great album though the Heaven's On Fire ripoff for Seen And Not Heard was kinda weird.

I think I speak for my entire family by choosing the title track Beyond Belief. The video was kinda cheesy tho

That's because it was part of that little movie they made.

Close one for me between Creed and Beyond Belief. I went with Creed. Yeah, it was overplayed on Christian radio, but it is a great song, both musically and lyrically.

"Creed" has gotten my vote.
I have voted for this song because I belief in the same things.
What a powerful song is this.

Like "Prayer" too.

This CD reminds me to Mastedon.

Only the opening riff was a rip off of Kiss' "Heaven's On Fire".  The rest of the song sounds nothing like it.


For me, I am going to have to vote for "I Am On the Rock" as it is a huge anthem for Christians.  However, I love every song on here as it is my favorite Petra album.  It's the first time I ever heard these guys.  If they ever do a reunion record with John and Bob, this is what they need to shoot for in style and sound.

This one was a lot harder than I thought it would be.  I went with Seen and Not Heard mostly because I've been thinking about the message a lot lately.  A LOT.

This was my dilemma as well, I could have easily gone with either of those two songs, but I picked "Beyond Belief".  But this is just a fantastic album with really no bad songs.

I Am on the Rock....    played that track to death.....  an anthem for sure....

Yes Seen and Not Heard was a complete rip off Heaven's on Fire.... much like Daniel Bands Fight Back from Rise Up has the same type riff as Fantasy by Aldo Nova....  I actually have been thinking of starting a thread.... Christian Riff Rip offs..... no??  I might tho... lol....  all in fun for me these days, took some of that way too serious back in the day....
