| I love the lyrics, but the music is pretty generic on this one. There are no memorable riffs or solos. Truthfully, the music is kind of bland overall and sounds like it has either been done before or was just phoned in.
I love the return of the bold lyrical stance, but they do need to step up their game in the music department. | I think the first 3 songs are brilliant as a collection. One after the other they are pounding tunes. I keep thinking about the On Fire album by Petra, for they did the same with their first 3 songs. I was away last weekend and I listened to the album probably 5 times all the way through and loved every minute. Maybe there could have been more solos, but the whole album sounded great to my ears.
One interesting thing was that only Kevin remains from the last album, everyone else is new. Maybe that's why it's not complex musically.
