Good point, he is definitely a Brit, and as such wouldn't be eligible for the U.S. presidential race.....too bad he would probably be better than most of the current crop of candidates....despite that fact that he isn't even a real hamster.

Obama isn't really a citizen either and he's president.  Why not just let anyone in?  That's what we've got now!

I didn't say it doesn't affect my life - sure it does. I have to follow speed limits like anyone else. But it isn't relevant to me as a Jesus follower - the kingdom I'm trying to advance has nothing to do with this country, or any country's politics.

That is what is coming.

Inaction is just as bad as being the person who votes to take away our rights.

And you're certainly entitled to your opinion. But consider...

When did Jesus ever demand his rights? When did Jesus ever use the Roman Empire's politics to further his kingdom? When did any New Testament writer tell us to be involved with politics?

Never. There's one reference to politics in the NT. Jesus tells his followers to render unto Caesar what is his (pay your taxes, which I've heard a lot of Christians complain about).

The bigger issue is that if you believe Romans 11, then God put all governments in place and they will do what they will do, regardless of our involvement. Trying to use politics to help spread the kingdom is bad - the state is a power-over entity, in other words they use the threat of punishment to enforce laws. God's kingdom is a power-under entity - we serve those around us and have no power over them.

And frankly, if it becomes illegal to share the gospel, that will weed out folks who aren't really believers won't it?
