Look who's talking. I didn't realize Québecois ex-pats in NZ were green and bearded.
As to my new pic. A buddy of mine let me play his upright bass. I was quite grateful. That low E resonating against horsehair is just out of this world.

No Chris. You can not use Agent May again.
But she is beautiful and is so much easier on the eyes than my own picture!!!!

And now I can prove that! Just look at all that redneck yumminess! Ok, maybe I am hotter than Agent May!
The story behind mine is this: I am currently rehearsing for a play called "Went There Wuz" which is a redneck spoof of "The Wizard Of Oz". Dotie and her hounddog Hank will follow the Cinder Block Road to find the Wheeler to get back home. They will encounter the Evil Beautician and make friends with the Toothleth Beaver, Yard Gnome, and Trashcan Man along the way. The play is a musical, so I have joined on as the bass player for the bluegrass band that will accompany the show. I also will be singing two songs during the show and singing harmonies for the preshow and curtain call songs as well.
I will leave for another mission trip with my youth group to Memphis on Sunday. I will get home Friday afternoon very late and have to be on stage with the show at 7:30. It will be a tight schedule, but I think I can make it!

If you don't make it in time for the show, just remember that no one cares about the bass player anyway.
Probably not, but I do sing two of the songs in the show. So, the bass player might not be missed, but a vocalist for 1/4 of the songs might be.

What'choo drivin' at Driven? The bass player is the meat and potatoes of the band. Everyone else is froo, froo brocolini and asparagus.
Maybe in some bands where the bass is really fancy, but very few people notice the bass player. We're there to keep the low end and also are providing extra support for keeping the band in time, but in the USA everyone wants to be the vocalist or guitarist. Now that most pop music is just programmed, even guitarists go unnoticed. Face it--no one cares about that bass. They want it to rumble the speakers, but they could care less if it is a bass player or keyboard driven monotone sound.

Both of us do. I am making sure that I give some tasty bass work on my albums at times. Sometimes the song calls for following the guitar and sometimes you gotta let the guitarist know that he is only playing the lead because it sounds weird to people if the bass does! Of course, I am both guitarist and bassist on my projects, so it is just a matter of what I think fits. LOL

So the story behind this picture is that I was having photos done for VOTK. I don't like having my picture taken at the best of times. It's a thing.
So after half an hour of posing and feeling like a poser, I sat down. "Are we done yet?!"
That's when this picture was taken.
We just had some portraits done for our 30th anniversary. It was my wife's idea as I despise having portraits made. None of our pictures really look natural as everything was posed. Even with that, there are no pictures of us close up like a real portrait. Grrrr......
Maybe we can get a couple like that at our 30th anniversary party coming up on the 24th.

Yep! My wife graduated on June 4 that year and we married on June 24. We were only 18 at the time. While we have not always had a perfect life, we are still standing 30 years later by the pure grace of God.
