PostSubject: Worth Spinning Again   Worth Spinning Again I_icon_minitimeWed Jan 16, 2008 6:35 am

Over the years I've bought albums, thought they weren't too good and then let them gather dust. Then, maybe years later I've given them a second chance, only to find them much better than I've remembered. What albums has everyone else had the same experience?

Here's a few of mine....

Bride - Oddities.
I was still craving something from Live To Die or Snakes era, so when Oddities came out, I saw the similiarities between that and The Jesus Experience and kind of put it to the bottom of the pile. Next time I listened to it I realised that the music was slightly more extreme than TJE, but what made it stand out was the lyrical content. To my opinion this is Bride's best work lyrically, and because of that I listen to it quite frequently.

Messiah Prophet - Colors.
If only they hadn't called the band Messiah Prophet. Yes, I can understand why they did it, and it does make sense, but I was expecting a follow up to Master Of The Metal, but instead I got a totally different band. I put it in the 'not right now' pile and left it well alone. Recently I have been spinning it again, and it's pretty good rock. Good production the lyrics are okay aswell.

I don't usually let mine sit around that long without listening to them before I sell/trade them.

I did get rid of Liason's "Hard Hitter" because I remeber being disappointed with it. But I recently found a copy of their "Urgency" album (on cassette) that was super cheap. So I have been listening to that lately, and it is pretty good. Thinking maybe getting rid of "Hard Hitter" wasn't such a good idea.

I have that on cassette also and I give it a listen every once in awhile. Great vocals and I like their lyrics for the most part.

They rocked the mullett hard Razz

Liason's "Hard Hitter" was anything BUT disappointing! That's great melodic hard rock!

I also love the Messiah Prophet disc. But, seeing that I had not heard the first two projects by M.P. until after I got "Colors", I was not disappointed. I heard it for what it was: more in the vein of Warrant or 20/20 Blind.

Love War - Soak Your Brain

I thought it was boring and tedious the first time I heard it. Several years later, however, I gave it a second chance and was able to really grow into the CD.

I recently had to spin the old Fighter discs. Man, they were a tight group who did some infectious AOR. Great underrated band!
