The JC album is one song away from completed vocals and 3 songs that need leads.  If you'd keep Joaquin in yours prayers it would greatly be appreciated.  He's going through a tough time.

I have had the last two days off for possible inclement weather, so I used it to start programming the drums for song number 8.  I now have the rhythm guitars and bass tracked with it.  I have this song and another that still need vocals.

Right now, I am trying to figure out what my last two songs should be.  If I chose correctly, this could be a nice varied album in overall style as I mesh influences.  We shall see what happens next!

The music for song number 9 is done after a few hours of work yesterday.

Today, I hope to do the music for a tenth song making a full album instead of an EP.

Wow, you are cranking away!  Have you decided if it's going to be an Mo1 or BC&DBBB album?

I missed this earlier, praying God will giver our brother Joaquin some relief and comfort.

This is straight up metal, so I think that the Mission Of One name would be appropriate.  If I do any more blues albums, then that would be the BC&DBBB moniker.

Of course, I could just shorten the bluesy name to D'Bare Bones and release it that way.  That could be confusing, though.

Hey, why not!  I mean you changed the name of Misson Of One (from Missionary One)... maybe that will be your thing.  Changing the names of all your projects (even if just slightly).  Kind of like Vengeance/Vengeance Rising and Legend/Legend 7 (only not for the same reason)

Some of my MO1 projects didn't have the best quality.  I fear that this might not be received if I keep the MO1 name.  At the same time, those who liked my past releases may be more apt to check this out with the familiarity.  Luckily, I don't have to decide this today.

If I can get the vocals finalized on a new song today, I hope to get a track up for everyone to listen to soon.  I might even pay to do a lyric video.  I will wait until that time to reveal who the lead guitarist is for this song.  He isn't famous, but he is definitely a shredder!  I am proud and amazed to have him on board for this song!

I have learned that there is something I LOVE about recording with a computer.  If you get a great take on your pre-chorus or chorus, you don't have to sing that section over and over.  Get one good take on the first appearance of that vocal phrase and copy/paste it where you want it.  That will save your voice to focus on the parts that won't reoccur like your verses or bridge.

Also, I love the pitch shift feature.  You can use it to get flawless backing vocals with a little practice so that you can sing higher than you normally can.  You can also copy/paste your parts you intend to harmonize with into a new track and set the pitch shift there to give you more control over those voices.

In less than an hour, I was able to do the vocals for a new song called "We're Gonna Rock" with some harmony vocals and gang vocals on the chorus.  It took a little time to copy/paste those parts, but I didn't strain myself like I normally do getting my parts the way I wanted them.  I am going to work more like this in the future!

It ain't cheating--it's merely a tool.

Bo Fawbush, the guitarist I play with in my band, has completed the solo for the one blues song "I'm Such A Fool".  I hate what I have done on the drums and will redo those completely.

I have sent two more songs to Kevin Hasselquist for leads.

I have sent another song to a yet to be announced guitarist.  I hope he is able to do this for me and that it inspires him to write/record again.

I am trying to do as much on my spring break as I can.  I would love to be able to release this sometime this year whether on a label or independently.

I am doing a little mixing/mastering on a couple of songs today.  We shall see how they turn out!

I have also sent two songs to another possible guitarist for the project.  Sadly, Pastor Brad is too busy right now and cannot help me.  I had hoped he could as that man is a beast on the guitar!
