PostSubject: God at work...   Mon Oct 17, 2011 3:26 pm

It's a funny world we live in. Lemme here summarize a very cool story unfolding right now.
Our local Marine Base had a serviceman in Afganistan. The Marine's brother here in the states was on the verge of death in desperate need of a kidney transplant. The waiting list was too long and he would die without the transplant. His brother in Afganistan was the only perfect DNA match for donating his kidney. Our Service refused him leave at the time to undergo this life-saving surgery. The Marine took it upon himself, with the support of his wife and sold everything, and he went AWOL flying back to the states. The kidney transplant was a success, his brother will live. The Marine Corp seized the AWOL serviceman and he is now serving 8 YEARS for this !!! His wife has no money so she can't move to the state he's serving time in to visit him regularly.
My wife told his wife to contact the Dr Phil show and take advantage of it if they're willing to do the story. The Producers called her back in less than a week and said they are 100% interested and already have their own investigation into this.
Is this an amazing story or what ??!! and my wife gets to be a part of this blessing. I pray and ask for your prayers that God can use Dr Phil's crew (hey, He can use anyone, right?) to help this couple and get the word out on this story. If anything, they can help her financially to move closer to his prison so she can be with him. And pray for his brother who's currently doing good because of this man putting his family over "orders".

I'll keep you guys posted on the progress. And if the story's gonna make it on Phil's show.

Sorry Vonnie, over here we say "you guys" in referring to a group of people whether males or females. "Guys" used to only mean males, but it's kind of lost that meaning.
So when I say "you guys", I mean everyone here at CHM.
We Americans like to mess up the meanings of words all the time.

…Indeed. Razz You might as well say "Y'all."

Quite a story there. May God bless this endeavour!

Cool update.

Phil's "people" wanted to meet with this guy's wife. She said she's unable to drive to Los Angeles cuz she sold her car to pay for expenses. They said no problem, and drove 2 1/2 hours out to her house to interview, ask questions and have her sign stuff. The crew is very interested in helping her and doing this story.

This part's cool too... without any of us saying anything, she told the Phil people she wants our Dr's office mentioned in this whole story, cuz of all the help we've given her. WOW ! Our little office getting plugged on the Dr Phil show ?!?!

I just hope and pray that they're able to use their clout and finances to bring this story to the public's attention as well as some mucky mucks that could make some changes in this whole situation. I just feel so bad for this gal. She's lost her husband cuz of a noble act of saving his brother's life, she's lost all their savings, he's going to be dis-honorably discharged meaning no financial future, and he could even have compromised health due to 1 less kidney.

I'm always amazed at how good people get screwed everyday.

I do hope this exposure helps his case. I bet if he was in the Army they wouldn't have been nearly as hard on him. (I'm not a fan of the Marines).
