| I don't remember a cartful for 20 bucks, but I have noticed an unbelievable increase - half a cart at the grocery market can be 200 bucks ! And don't get me started on Wal-Mart... we went in for a few things that didn't even fill ONE bag, and it was a 100 bucks ! I looked at Lisa in shock, she just said, it all adds up. whew !! |

| If I remember right, minimum wage in 1997 was $7.75/hr in California. Double what it was 10 years earlier. |

| I remember my first job I got $6.25/hr and that was in 2001 or 2002... so it was probably less than that in '97. Does minimum wage vary per county or state though? I'm not sure? |

| There is a federal minimum wage that is THE minimum wage but states can make their own higher minimum wages. Of course it all goes out the window for wait staff jobs. |

| Oh, woops, I just looked it up and it says CA min wage was 5.15 in '97. Wow, I thought I was only making a couple bucks over minimum at the time, but apparently I was making 4 bucks over.
A fellow licensed technician doing my exact job but working in a big retail rather than the independent I was working in told me they were making 19 bucks/hr. I left that job after 9 years of getting pathetic raises and went up to 22/hr working with the big boys. But it was a lot harder work too. Needless to say, I lost track of minimum wage amounts once I was able to pay my mortgage off. |

| Minimum wage when I started working was $3.35. My first job paid $5 and I thought I was rolling in the dough! _________________ I might have decided, or maybe not, that I should or shouldn't, depending on the issue or non-issue, to possibly share or not share, any thoughts, opinions, or facts (that might not be deemed factual by some), due to possible fear of any misinterpretation or retribution. |

I hear that! I've always looked a minimum wage as a working child's wage. Not something you try and live on. |

| It can't be a wage to live on and people who think so don't understand economics. You make minimum wage $20 and price increases swallow up the benefit. And many studies show it hurts those who were over minimum wage as companies don't raise their pay scale exponentially. |

| Minimum wage now is a tad over $10 an hour here. I don't know what it is for the US.
I'm just old enough to remember when you could put more litres than dollars in a car. Just 10 years ago, I think, it was well under $1 a litre, which would be under $3.50 or so a gallon. |

| Ahhh, it's "show your age" time....
When I first started driving in 1985, gas prices were 75 to 80 cents a gallon. I could fill my entire tank for under 10 bucks. |

| Rear visibility would be terrible with that droid on the back, but that would be a nice thing to own. Also, I've expanded on a famous proverb… "If necessity is the mother of invention, then laziness is its father." |

| You could have a real camera mounted in R2s head so that you could have a rear view screen inside to help with backing and just watching around you while driving. _________________ I might have decided, or maybe not, that I should or shouldn't, depending on the issue or non-issue, to possibly share or not share, any thoughts, opinions, or facts (that might not be deemed factual by some), due to possible fear of any misinterpretation or retribution. |
