Work Place Sayings that must STOP

I assume most of you here work, have jobs. I assume some if not all have heard the person come up to you and say "Working hard, or hardly working" (usually followed by forced laughter and if you're like me, a roll of the eyes).   

What are some other sayings in the work place that have become REALLY old ?

For example:  "All alone eh ? You must be holding down the fort"
-- fort ?? what is this, some sort of saying from the military ? Wow, is that one ever overdone !

How about: "Is it Friday yet ?"
 -- first of all, you just reminded me that it's NOT Friday... secondly, not everyone gets weekends off, so to say "is it Friday yet" means nothing to some people.
Course the one that follows that saying sometimes is "Today's MY Friday" -- implying they have the next day or 2 off.

I could go on, but I want to hear some Work Place Sayings that you're burned out on:

Hahaha reminds me of that scene from Office Space when he's talking to his neighbor:

"Let me ask you something. When you come in on Monday and you're not feeling real well, does anyone ever say to you, 'Sounds like someone has a case of the Mondays?'"

"No. No, man. S**t, no, man. I believe you'd get your [butt] kicked sayin' something like that, man."

"Just another day in paradise".. hilp hilp hilp !

I was told I could listen to the radio at a reasonable volume.

"Another day, another dollar."

"How goes the battle?" -- I hear this one from my boss at least once each week, even though I told him months ago that we have long since lost the war!

Worse. Sentence. Ever !  ^^

You guys ever get the paradigm shift talk? Or being empowered at work. Really just meant we want you to do more but we're not going to pay more.

I hope to never work in an office. I'll probably have to, but I really don't want to live in that environment. That said, at school, we hear none of these sayings, which is nice.

Oh my gosh! I hate these & I hear them all day long!! LOL

I need everyone to give 110% on this.

I need it done yesterday.

Now that I'm in academia instead of an office...

With the drop in enrollment I'm afraid salaries will remain the same next year.

We all need to make sacrifices.  (The unspoken part, of course, is that faculty/staff sacrifices will be greater than administrator sacrifices)

So very sick of this phrase and prevailing attitude that permeates absolutely every project I work on.  Any urgency for which I have approached most project has been squashed by the assertion that the last 50 projects also needed to be "fast-tracked"!

A little off the subject at hand, but... here's my work doodle expressing that smoldering feeling inside me as I hear the incessant non-stop chattering of a gal in my office who has diarrhea of the mouth...

Needless to say, she's driving me nutso !




(Doodles have been a wonderful outlet for me... otherwise, I'd probably be in jail today    )
