News just in...

Transparent wood could soon replace glass in some windows. Swedish researchers have engineered the non-shattering material by stripping out the component that makes wood brown and replacing it with acrylic. The wood could let in light while still maintaining privacy for residents.

Ok, that's a little bizarre, but it seems more like an acrylic/wood hybrid kind of thing. Much like the popular concrete/wood fiber siding that has become popular in my area.

I was in a good mood at work yesterday.  I took a selfie with fake poop on my head.  I also took a cheese grater and a spoon and danced around the room while saying, "I have a fevah, and the prescription is:  more cowbell!"

Man, I love discount book stores.  I read a lot of fiction and non-fiction Christian books.  There is a store in Murfreesboro called Christian Publishing Outlet that carries a ton of discounted books sometimes as low as 98 cents.  I bought the latest book by Kyle Idleman for $5.98.  It was still $14 at Lifeway across the street.  I have literally bought dozens of books there in the two years since they opened.

We had one of our elderly ladies from church pass away.  The visitation at the funeral home was tonight.  We live close enough that we decided just to leisurely stroll to the funeral home.  While walking, two teens were walking the opposite direction.  The dude pulls out a joint and then his girlfriend starts yelling at him.  Then, her mama rolls up in her car and all three start a fussing/cussing match right in the middle of the street.  I was attempting to call the police and they noticed I was calling someone while watching.  Needless to say, I heard a lot of language that I haven't used in many, many years.

Just lovely, innit.

I've been listening to the Diesel and Dust album lately. I'm burdened by the plight of Native people who've been forced out of their lands and their customs. Of course, the Native people of Québec are closer to my heart. Besides, I love the title of the album.

Having a cold made me not feeling very well the last days.

Shopping for a new car is nerve-wracking!

Let us know what you end up getting !  I need a car like crazy... the truck I have is not cutting it. It was cool when I bought it in 2004, but now I can't get in and out of it anymore without lots of pain (has a mini lift kit installed).  We keep talking about trading it in for a used car, but you know how that goes.

We bought a 2016 Kia Sorento. My wife loves having a small SUV.  So we are selling the 2007 Saturn Vue that has almost has 230,000 miles.

Nice !  I've considered a Kia... just a little car. I need something I can get in and out of with comfort.

I am SO tired.  I haven't slept well or long enough in days with my wife having gone to Chicago.  I've had no time to rest, either.  I've had to run to Nashville to the airport for her on two nights and a night out with her mom, too.  I've been on the go since Sunday night.  Now that she is home, I've got two band practice nights and a full Saturday as well as I am helping my brother with hosting a 5K run/walk and the CD release party for the Tim Davis Band.  When does it freakin' stop?  I don't have time to do much at home save for a load or two of laundry.  I need some me time.  If next week is this fast pace, I swear I am going to lay out of work (i have plenty of personal sanity days left) and just disappear off the grid for a day.

I am happy to announce that the band practice for tonight is cancelled.  I am ecstatic about that!

I am also supposed to go to a girls' track meet at the local high school for one of my youth group.  It is raining and I think I will skip out.

Looks like I will get that night at home!

That's good the band practise is cancelled.
Sometimes it's wonderful to stay at home.

What a nutso week and a half. I've had little to no time to rest lately. A missionary team of young adults from Word of Life in New York came up to Québec to do evangelism and church presentations, as well as help destroy a building on campus (that was fun). They just left, and I'm bushed. Hence, my absence from the board.

I have to mention that one of the girls from the missionary team seemed very interested in me… we'll see how this goes now that she's gone…
