I let my wife make me watch the last hour of the Misss Universe competition last night (as some of you might remember her and my daughter were involved in the local competitions for Miss America for a while). I am totally glad I did because I never would have seen this...crazy mistake!
As a set-up for this video the final two contests in the competition was Miss Colombia and Miss Philippines. Steve Harvey had just announced Miss Colombia as the winner and she had been crowned and was basking in her victory Miss Philippines is standing on the side-lines with Miss USA (who was the 2nd runner up)..... then Steve Harvey comes back out on stage and...
Having seen a few of these competitions (at least on the local level) I have to feel for Miss Columbia...what a terrible thing to have happen, these women spend a year (or more) in this competition and to have that happen must just be devastating.

THAT would suck, however, as bad as I feel for the ladies... I kinda feel bad for Steve as well. No, he should NOT make a mistake like that and they should have someone competent enough to be able to read a simple card. But he's human, and we tend to screw up. In his case, it was a BIG screw up and he should be prevented from hosting these in the future.. but again, I have a feeling he is just sick about this. He probably feels like a fool, is embarrassed and mostly, probably feels terrible for accidentally doing that to those women.

I said something similar to my wife. I bet he just felt horrible. Bad part was he seemed completely out of his element the entire time we were watching, and he stumbled over some words here and there...almost as if he missed rehearsal and couldn't follow the teleprompter or something.
I am willing to bet he will never be asked to M.C. another pageant show again.

Me too, but I thought Miss Austrailia was the prettiest of the bunch...you also have to be able to speak well in this competition and Miss Philippines was flawless in her Q&A sessions.

xononlion, glad that you have joined the musical ranks! I started out on bass when I was just a little over a year younger than you. I've been playing for a long time and then ventured out to guitar, then building my own guitars (3 and 4 string), and now messing with drums more. Just keep practicing and you will get good.
