Wow! This is good. I like S & G, but this just shows the emotion a metal band can bring to a song!

I thought this was quite well done myself (I expected them to make it really metaled out, but they didn't).
While it isn't a genre that get's a lot of talk around here there is a CCM folk-rock duo "Jenny & Tyler" that did a cover this song a few years back, that I also found very good.

^^ I really like the Awakening. Ashton's voice is awesome! I only have one CD (Request) but I would love to get more.
I gotta say, though, that I still think Disturbed's version is the best, probably because they slowed it down, giving a doomy feel. That, and he almost growls parts of it.

Wow I like all of those! (But I am a sucker for cover songs....I think I see my next facebook post). I have a few tracks from "The Awakening" that I got off of various comps, but don't have any of their albums. Gonna have to fix that I think.

Very cool covers ! My daughter and her ex-husband used to be way into Disturbed, but I never gave them a second glance as I assumed they were just another God hating secular band. Well, I don't know their stand on spiritual things, but I LOVE their Simon and Garf cover as well as their Phil Collins Land of Confusion cover ! WOW !!! Awesome sound !! I wonder if the rest of their music is lyrically ok, as I refuse to listen to music that hates on my Father in Heaven. Gonna look into them...

I've always heard that Garfunkel always wanted to do it like that but Paul Simon beat him into submission to do it his way.

I'm typically a stickler for originals. I'll still always prefer the version that doesn't have drums and electric on it.
