I am thinking of truly making this a "missionary" work. I am praying for God to show me a cause or organization that I can give a large portion of any money received to. Sure, I want to recoup my costs in this, but I don't really care if I make a lot of money or not. I'd rather use this to further God's kingdom by more than just the songs. I don't know what I will do yet.

I am also looking for ways to creatively get the music out there without spending a lot of money. With such a small fanbase, I don't know if I can do CDs or not. I might have to totally go with downloads. I'd hate to spend several hundred dollars on mixing, who knows how much for pro-mastering, and then hundreds to possibly a grand on CDs to not sell enough to cover my costs. I will figure out what's best for me when the songs are all complete.

When the CD/download becomes available I'll put a banner up on my website. Ok, so I don't much traffic through there but it may generate a bit of interest.

I don't think that they do. I already have one of those, but I don't use it yet. When this record is done and "Take Another Swig" is remastered, I will definitely use that to get the music out.

My brother uses Bandcamp and I'm pretty sure that it's free. I don't know if they take a sales commission, because he's distributing his album there for free.

This is all totally great for me - I scored Take Another Swig in Feb, and just now scored Show Me the Way and the S/T from 2008 original CDs !! NOW I get to add to all those the newest release soon as it comes out... This is so cool !!!

Therein lies the whole problemo with this project. I've always done the "one man band" thing because I could never find musicians who wanted to hook up and do this. Around this area, people typically want to play country music or CCM and expect to get paid. I am looking more for the weekend warrior type of guys who want to still make some noise but more at the hobby level. Of course, when the project is complete, I might have a bit more of something to get people interested. So, I won't say shows won't happen, but right now it seems unlikely.

The mixing of the new project is going faster than originally planned. It looks like we could be done by the end of this coming week. Of course, there's still the mastering to be done at that point.

I actually have near finished mixes of all 12 songs to listen to and approve. Part of that process will be listening to things like 1)volume & clarity of the lead and backing vocals, 2) overall blending of instruments and their respective volumes in the mix, 3) listening for crackle or other noises that should not be present, and 4) deciding on whether to use certain guitar solo pieces or just keep them in the center of the song for a "less is more" approach.

Truthfully, this won't take too long, but I will need to sit a the computer and write down everything I hear for each track. I will need to add the exact time stamp for each change I need. Once those changes are made, the mixing will be done.

Now that's great news, does it mean we can order and listen to "Hostile To The Gospel" sooner than we ever could think of?

More good news! Things are moving along fast.

So far, most of the changes Jacob will have to make are just muting some lead tracks that I want to get rid of. Some of them just drown out the riffs of the songs even when mixed properly. So, we will cut those out so that you hear the riff and save the leads for the middle of the songs.

There are a few other minor things that will need changing, but the mix should be done this week--well ahead of the agreed upon June 30 in our mixing contract.

I'm so curious to how this CD will sound.

It's going to sound pretty dog gone good if you ask me!

No. If that were the case, you would have had it 4 years ago when I started this.

It will come. Even after it's mixed, I want to get this one mastered properly. All of this will still take some time. Just know that it will happen this year--Lord willing! I hope to at least have the downloads ready by August. If I can do it sooner, then I will.

Eight of the songs are totally mixed! The other 4 should be done by the end of the day as there were only small changes to make.
